Our Program

maysFor over 20 years, talented and motivated students have benefited from Business Honors’ personalized learning community and access to the extensive resources of a large university.  As a business honors student, you will learn in small classes led by top-rated faculty who use discussion-driven lectures, case studies and the latest events in the business world as foundations for learning.

Business Honors is a program and a major.  In addition to taking core business classes, you may design your own customized study of business or work concurrently on earning a double major with one of our other BBA degree plans (in accounting, finance, marketing, management, management of information systems, or supply chain management). You’ll also take honors classes in other disciplines, from the humanities to sciences and math. Early registration privileges allow you to build a schedule that accommodates your individualized course selection.

What do I gain?

A solid foundation in business

Today’s business environment requires a broad-based knowledge of business functions so the Business Honors curriculum is grounded in a set of honors classes that cover all the significant areas of business. In addition, you’ll complete an internship, providing you with invaluable work experience. You can also choose to complete an independent study that lets you research a topic of interest on a more in-depth and personal level.

Personal attention

After a semester in Business Honors, you won’t be surprised when faculty and staff and a new set of friends know your name and what you’re best at. Students in Business Honors work with inspiring honors faculty in more intimate classroom settings. That gives you the opportunity to engage with the brightest business students and interact with professors presenting the latest ideas in business education. You’ll also have ready access to a dedicated staff in the Business Honors office.

“The professors were top notch…but the best thing was definitely the group work and individual projects that challenged me to think creatively and apply what I learned in the classroom. The skills I learned from that type of environment have really opened doors of opportunity with several employers.” – Kyle Schumacher

Challenging classes

Honors classes are designed to help students think strategically. In a discussion-based, case-oriented learning environment, you’ll transition from theory to real-world applications. Your courses will take you from working on a team project to creating a business plan to playing a role in a mock trial.

“The classes were the best I’ve taken at A&M. They really challenged me to be insightful and think critically, and the students in the classes became some of the closest friends I’ve had throughout college.” – Mary Harrison

Powerful network

SpiritAs part of Texas A&M’s powerful network, Business Honors students form a distinct community of peers and graduates. You’ll be invited to dine with executives from major corporations and meet interesting guest speakers. Plus, you’ll find yourself forming long-lasting friendships with other highly motivated students.
